Flower Power // Empire Seersucker Dress

This Flower Fields in Carlsbad is one of the prettiest and breathtaking places I have ever been. Ranunculus are my favorite kind, so of course finding a place where I can run, skip, and jump into a pile of them was definitely a must. The Flower Fields is open during the spring season from March 1st to May 13th every year. My parents are in town for a couple of weeks, so naturally, I wanted to take them to experience a California spring. It was better than perfect - we went on a weekday, there was still a crowd but better than any weekend. BLUE STRIPE DRESS  // sz S [SIMILAR 1, SIMILAR 2, SIMILAR 3, SIMILAR 4] • ARK BAMBOO BAG [BOX VERSIONTOTE VERSION] • STRAP BLOCK HEEL SANDAL •  SUNGLASSEST3 Micro

For a place like this, I had no option but don my "IT" spring dress that I've been dying to wear - the season was way too late this year but worth the wait for the experience! The seersucker print dress has always been a favorite for the warmer seasons, add a little bit of lace and you've got yourself a perfect piece! I love the fitted top with an a-line flare at the bottom. I've linked an array of options for you to choose from. I usually run between  XS/S with all the ones I've included here - SIMILAR 1, SIMILAR 2, SIMILAR 3, SIMILAR 4.

As for my accessories, I finished the look with faux suede blocked heel sandals [be smart, there's a lot of walking]. This is my first suede feel sandals and I love the look - plus it can be dressed up or down. I also made sure to bring my go-to ark bamboo bag, if you haven't invested in one, I LOVE mine! It's sturdy, big enough to fit all the essentials, and get a lot of compliments. It's definitely a statement piece! I've linked different sizes here - BOX VERSIONTOTE VERSION, WHITE VERSION. For styling, I wrapped a yellow scarf for a pop of color, mine was only $6 - HERE.

California is never short of sunshine [which is worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY], but it does get blistering. Protect your skin with sunblock and a wide brim hat or cap. I've been burned before [pun intended], so I made sure to bring my straw hat, I was well shaded unlike my poor mom who now looks pecan tan.

Last thing I recommend is to get their strawberry shortcake and strawberry milkshake. It is the BEST I've ever had, the strawberries are organic and so fresh - obviously because they just pick 'em in their back yard! You will not regret it, definitely worth the calories.
