The holidays came and went but the winter and its’ snowy weather is here to stay, at least for awhile. I have several secret weapons to deal with the cold, but nothing compares to being prepared to step out in the frozen tundra like wearing the right boots. I have three that helps me transition between slushy, icey, and powdered snow and I’ll be reviewing them in this post.

HENRI BENDEL TALL BOOT – Sadly, Henri Bendel has discontinued these AMAZING pair of wellies, however Hunter has the same exact pair! I’m sure your first question is – Why white? Yes, it might get dirty, but no one else has white boots and I’ve gotten so many compliments with mine, mainly for the color! The Hunter boots are just as comfortable with a thick traction sole – it helps prevent slipping in areas with ice. What I love is that you can add stockings to add extra warmth and Hunter logo on top of the shaft. The shaft height hits right below the knee and can be worn during slushy down fall, rain, or just after heavy snow has fallen and you’re trying to get past three feet of snow.

SOREL BOOT – These boots have been my saving grace when the weather has been in freezing temperatures. They may be bulky but Sorel states they can be worn between -40 to 40 degrees. I’m here to validate that it is a true statement. It has a leather shaft and thick rubber bottom that keeps your feet dry and nothing but a drill can penetrate. I’ve traveled with these in the mountains of Colorado and it has definitely taken care of me by keeping my little toes warm. The inner lining can be removed and washed – you, can even wear them without it. I’m also lucky enough to get these in kids size, so they were cheaper. However, the adult version is on sale for $130 – HERE. You can also see another post about these boots – HERE.

SPERRY BOOT – This was money well spent while I was in Chicago. These Sperry boots are for a milder everyday winter and is much lighter to walk around in than the Sorel boots. I love the dark leather shaft and comes with a back zipper so you don’t have to deal with tying/untying the laces. I’ve never gotten a pair of Sperry shoes that were uncomfortable and these are no different. The best part is that I can wear these in the Fall without my feat overheating and my transition into spring. It’s true to size and probably my favorite out of the the three boots I mentioned in this blog. It’s currently on sale for under $70 – HERE.

DISCLAIMER: I do wear extremely thick socks with each of these boots, if you prefer you can size down.

I also wanted to mention my accessories for the winter. A few things I NEVER leave the house without is a beanie, scarf, and mitts [I prefer these over gloves, because I find that my hands stay warmer when my hands are close together than separated]. My favorite are the cable knitted ones, because it reminds me of the holidays. I have a couple linked above and below and  love  every single one. I wear them often to keep my noggin warm but they’re also very fashionable!
