I love this outfit not only because of it’s femininity but it’s a fashion statement ensemble on a budget! I got the floral skirt from Forever 21 [SIMILAR] and I’m obsessed with it. Essentially it’s a summer piece usually seen at a beach, however a skirt this pretty doesn’t have geographic limitations. I knew it was going to be hot in Rome with nowhere to hide from the sun rays so it was my alternative to jeans [I didn’t want to get sunburn—yes, I get sunburn!]. This skirt was light and airy to keep me breezy with all the functions of protecting my skin like a pair of jeans—except better.

This can also be an option for the conservative girl who dislikes wearing shorts, although my skirt had a slit high enough to give it some flavor. I considered a functional necessity as I would open it when it got really hot walking around the Colosseum and Forum Shops. I paired it with a simple racerback tank [I didn’t want to take away from the skirt which was my accent piece—less is more!]. Wearing a racerback tank gives the illusion of smaller shoulders while emphasizing your shoulder blades [aka scapulas]. I added my go to Old Navy Faux Leather T-Strap Sandals [currently on sale!] as walking in comfort was a major requirement. I included  my  oh so versatile Rebecca Minkoff Cross Body Bag [on sale right now, you can see me also wearing it here], carrying all my travel necessities including my delicious NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, keeping my lips moist through out the day with a subtle hint of summer color. All in all, this outfit is definitely approved for a Roman vacation.
