There’s nothing I take more seriously than skin care—well except maybe saving lives [hello..nurse over here!]. But it has taken me years to finally find products that don’t either dry or breakout my skin. Since I started this facial skin regimen I’ve noticed my skin looking brighter, refreshed, and healthy—so naturally I wanted to share it with you!
Step 1—I follow my face regimen twice a day [morning and night]. I begin by washing my face using the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and lukewarm/cold water [never hot, it will dry you out as well leave your skin irritated]. I gently massage the cleanser starting with my cheeks in a circular motion moving to my forehead and neck, then rinse. I love it because it’s water-based and gentle on my skin. The ingredients include cucumber, soy, and borage seed oil. It’s fragrance free and also paraben/sulfate free [two things I’m allergic to]. I’ve tried multiple facial cleansers that were too harsh, leaving my skin cracked and inflamed—Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is the first product that cleans my skin without washing my face off. Plus it can be used for ALL skin types!
Step 2—Depending on the day [Wednesdays and Sundays], I like to exfoliate by using Dr. Jart Micro Milk Peel. Unlike other exfoliants with beads that roughly brush your face, this has an acid/coconut milk combination to help remove the dead skin while moisturizing. It comes with pads but I use my hands to apply [I feel like it’s wasting product when it gets soaked up]. I leave it on for approximately three minutes and rinse it off. One of the ingredients in it that I really like is glutathione [a skin lightener]—which helps to even my skin tone and lighten any dark spots, plus it leaves my face brighter.
Step 3—Once I’ve dried my face with a towel [don’t vigorously wipe, pat your face gently], I apply a dime size of Dr. Jart Soothing Gel in five areas. I place it on the center of each cheek, forehead, chin, and neck—then massage it evenly all over my face. Sometimes I refrigerate it before applying to get it extra cool. Ingredients include 85% aloe vera, 10% cypress water, and peppermint. It’s also paraben free. I’ve noticed that after I put this on it leaves my face hydrated and bright as if I just woke up after a well rested sleep. It’s definitely my favorite product and also comes with UV Protection if you need extra coverage from the sun.
Step 4—After letting the soothing gel dry I apply the Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet. Let’s be honest anything that has sorbet in the name has me sold! I like that this product is light/creamy and doesn’t feel gunky like it’s going to clog my pores. To make it better, this moisturizer is made from organic grape water [it’s like wine for your skin/face!] and it helps with wrinkles! It’s jam packed with hydration, which I love during the winter months and it smells fabulous. It’s paraben and sulfate free and can be used for all skin types.
